Guaranteeing you 100% pure and natural essential oils
The quality of the products, their integrity and purity are just as important as their applications that affect health and well-being. Consequently, there is the question of quality and how to control it. Because even with these quality controls, more checks are still required. And natural products need more than mere analytical techniques.
Essential oils are often precious because market demand is high. They can therefore be the object of fraud by dilution or natural or synthetic additives, all attempting to enrich the quality of the oil. There are techniques for revealing the exact nature of an oil and its components. But they require relatively delicate expertise and are not always infallible. So which practice is the best? Develop increasingly exhaustive and astute analytical techniques or, upstream, develop trusting relationships with suppliers to reduce the place and role of these controls? The answer is probably somewhere between the two.
At Herbarom, our presence in the field, our knowledge of the land and our farmers mean we can be sure that all the stakeholders are working to our values. The intention in their work is as sincere and authentic as the care in growing and processing the plants. By integrating men and women in our ecosystem over the long-term, we’re not specifically avoiding synthetic anethole in our star anise essential oil; we want to ensure trusting relationships, relationships to nourish and maintain. Just as good products are made with good raw materials, the richness and quality of human relationships condition the quality of natural products and the meaning we give them. Because in the end, the first thing expected of a 100% pure and natural oil is that it has been produced conscientiously. And how can a chromatograph detect that kind of quality?
