Plant extracts

Our knowledge of the vegetal world, our know-how in terms of extraction, and our managed supply chain, enable us to offer our professional customers a complete range of liquid vegetal offerings for use in the cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries.

Our range comprises extracts obtained by macerating dried or fresh plants in a solvent (alcohol, glycerol, vegetable oil, water, etc.), and distillation by-products, herbal distillates, floral water and cellular water (see our various extract types).

A non-exhaustive list of products is available in our catalogue.

Following our Quality charter and our traceability system, all our extracts are checked in our in-house laboratory at every stage of their production, and are delivered with an accompanying technical data sheet and all safety information.

Our different types of extract

Hydrolates (Herbal distillates)

HYDROLATES are the aqueous distillates remaining in the alembic after separation of the essential oils using steam, and are usually obtained from fresh seasonal plants.

Floral waters

FLORAL WATERS are the aqueous distillates remaining after steam extraction directly on dried or fresh plants or parts of plants, and are available all year round.

Decoctions

DECOCTIONS are produced using an extraction technique for the plant's active ingredients, which consists in bringing a mixture of the crushed plant and water to boiling point, maintaining it at that temperature for a defined period and then filtering.

Infusions

INFUSIONS are obtained from the extraction of the water-soluble aromas or active ingredients from the plant, starting with a boiling liquid (water, oil or alcohol) which is then allowed to cool.

Hydro-glycerinated extracts

HYDRO-GLYCERINATED EXTRACTS are obtained by macerating the plants in a solvent composed of water and glycerine.

Hydro-glycolic extracts

HYDRO-GLYCOLIC EXTRACTS are obtained by macerating the plants in a solvent composed of water and glycol (Propylene or butylene glycol).

Fluid extracts

FLUID EXTRACTS are concentrated liquid preparations, usually containing alcohol, which result from the evaporation of the extract obtained from one or more plants.

Mother tinctures

Vegetal MOTHER TINCTURES are produced by prolonged maceration (several weeks) of the FRESH plant in a mixture of water and alcohol.

Officinal tinctures

Vegetal OFFICINAL TINCTURES are produced by prolonged maceration (several weeks) of the DRIED plant in a mixture of water and alcohol.

Oil extracts

OIL EXTRACTS result from a subtle process of macerating the plants in fine vegetable oil.
